Working with natural processes to reduce flood risk
Environment Agency Report
Evidence Directory: Working with Natural Processes (WWNP) aims to protect, restore and emulate the natural functions of catchments, floodplains, rivers and the coast. Considerable research has been undertaken on this topic, but it has been disparate and never synthesised into one location. This report presents the evidence base setting out the current state of the scientific evidence underpinning WWNP. Its purpose is to give flood risk management practitioners and other responsible bodies easy access to information which explains ‘what we know’ and ‘what we don’t know’ about the effectiveness of a range of different measures from a flood risk and ecosystem services perspective.
