The Woodland Trust’s MOREhedges scheme includes saplings, advice and funding for new hedging projects of 100 metres or more.

Countryside Stewardship

Deadline: Various

Countryside Stewardship is administered by the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).  If you are a farmer or other land manager, you can apply for a Hedgerows and Boundaries Grants to help restore existing farm boundaries, and bring environmental and landscape benefits to your land.

Hedgerow Heroes

CPRE’s Hedgerow Heroes project has now entered its fourth year with eight local CPREs taking part in the 2024-25 season. The project will see local communities coming together to plant and rejuvenate hedgerows through CPRE Avon & Bristol, CPRE Bedfordshire, CPRE Gloucestershire, CPRE Hampshire, CPRE Herefordshire, CPRE Oxfordshire, CPRE Shropshire and CPRE Warwickshire.

Woodland Trust Tree Packs

I Dig Trees

TCV’s I Dig Trees offers community groups free tree packs including hedgerows packs. These can be for projects in England, Scotland or Wales and can include protection if needed.

Trees for Climate

Available within all England Community Forest areas, Trees for Climate grants cover up to 100% of the costs of tree planting projects and provide up to 15 years of maintenance payments.

The National Forest Tree Planting Grants

The National Forest’s grant schemes are straightforward and offer funding of up to 100% to cover design, planning, implementation and maintenance costs (including agent fees).
